The African construction Machinery trade show has been transformed by new opportunities for industry

bauma CONEXPO AFRICA, sub-Saharan Africa's leading trade show in construction, building materials, mining, agricultural and forestry machinery, machinery and vehicles, will return to South Africa in 2021 with a new look and greater focus, bringing greater cross-sector growth opportunities to sub-Saharan Africa.

BMW Africa CONEXPO, already a major trade show for construction and mining machinery, will also feature agricultural and forestry equipment and machinery. This will provide government agencies, developers, contractors, industry associations, financiers and other industry stakeholders with a one-stop shop for the latest services and solutions covering infrastructure development, construction, forestry and agricultural value chains.

The bauma CONEXPO Africa Pavilion, one of six international bauma fairs held in Messe Munchen, was modeled after bauma based on a collaboration with AEM, the organizer of Conexpo-Con /AGG in Munich.bauma is known as the ultimate trade show in the industry, attracting more than 620,000 international visitors, while CONEXPO-CON/AGG is the industry's leading trade show for the North American market. As a gateway for international companies to enter the African market and for African businesses to enter the global market, bauma CONEXPO AFRICA attracted around 15,000 high-level visitors and exhibitors in 2018, and these numbers are expected to increase significantly in 2021.

Addressing the challenges facing African industry

As the AFRICA Center expands, bauma CONEXPO AFRICA plans to host buyers and diplomatic delegations from across sub-Saharan Africa and actively promote interaction and business exchanges between governments and the private sector in the region.

Solutions to be exhibited include agricultural machinery and tractors, building materials, construction and mining equipment, engineering services, occupational safety products and services, plant hire services, quantity surveying technology and forestry machinery.

At a high-level industry conference

In addition to showcasing the latest international products and solutions, bauma CONEXPO Africa will also host a high-level industry conference, the Africa Forum, focusing on trends, challenges and opportunities in sub-Saharan Africa. At the conference, industry experts will discuss key issues such as infrastructure investment, return on investment from public-private partnerships and China's role in mining and infrastructure construction in Africa.

Business-boosting support project

BMW Africa International Convention and Exhibition Centre will also offer a robust support programme, including CPD-certified workshops and masterclasses, technical forums covering hot topics, product demonstrations and university innovation awards. The trade show will also facilitate B2B conferences specifically aimed at women in the industry, and will showcase and future entrepreneurs, giving them the opportunity to network with local and international industry leaders.
